• It is important to have the ability to test printed barcodes with a barcode scanner. If a scanner is not available for testing purposes, IDAutomation sells high-quality complete barcode scanner kits.

The IDAutomation Dynamic Barcode Generator Service is a professional grade, online barcode generation service that is hosted and managed by IDAutomation. It dynamically creates high quality GIF or JPEG images that are stored on IDAutomation servers, or streamed directly into an application. This service can easily create barcodes in any application that can access a URL in any operating system. HTML barcode implementation is as easy as using the IMG tag. This service can also be used as a hosted version of the IDAutomation Java Barcode Servlet, Barcode Server for IIS or the Barcode Web Server Control.

After an order approval, an email will be sent with a unique URL to the Dynamic Barcode Generator Service. Test the URL by pasting the address into a web browser and a default barcode will be created. For example, http://www.bcgen.com/demo/linear-dbgs.aspx creates a demo barcode. This unique URL should be used in place of the demo and implemented as described in the Streaming Barcode Implementation section of the Barcode Server for IIS manual.

The Free Online Barcode Generator is a hosted version of the IDAutomation ASP Barcode Server for IIS perpetually licensed product. The free version may be used to test and evaluate implementation of the ASP Barcode Server for IIS product without installation.

Free and Demo License:
A "free" license is granted for the use of this product to all organizations that qualify according to the Free License portion of the License Agreement, provided that the "Powered by IDAutomation.com" watermark is not removed. A 30-day evaluation period is granted to organizations that do not qualify for the free license. The "Powered by IDAutomation.com" watermark does not appear in the purchased version.

Implementation:
The free version uses the URL of http://www.bcgen.com/demo/linear-dbgs.aspx as described at the Free Barcode Generator page and is easily implemented as described in the Streaming Barcode Implementation section of the Barcode Server for IIS manual.

The data encoded may be changed by adding ?D= to the end of the URL, for example:
http://www.bcgen.com/demo/linear-dbgs.aspx?D=123456789012

Properties may be changed by adding &PropertyName= to the URL, for example:
http://www.bcgen.com/demo/linear-dbgs.aspx?D=123456&S=0&BH=2&CC=F&X=.06&FS=16
NOTE: IDAutomation does not recommend changing properties unless the default values must be changed.

To transition from the free version to the purchased version, simply replace http://www.bcgen.com/demo/linear-dbgs.aspx with the unique URL provided after purchase.
