Point-of-sales (POS) refers to both a retail cash wrap in a storefront
shop and the location where a sales transaction occurs. A POS system
manages the sales process with several components including computer hardware
such as a touch screen PC, software similar to Microsoft's POS 2009, check out
hardware including a barcode scanner, MSR reader or receipt printer and additional
peripherals such as a cash drawer or pole display.
