Does IDAutomation fonts need to be loaded on the client computer to export the Crystal Report to a PDF document when using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio.NET or Crystal 9?

Solution(s):

No. The fonts are actually embedded in the PDF file negating the need to distribute the fonts to the individual client's computers. In order to do this, it will be necessary to use IDAutomation's TrueType fonts. OpenType fonts could be used if there were a need to embed the fonts directly in a web page using HTML.

Note: Fonts can not be embedded in the PDF file with earlier versions of Crystal Reports (i.e. Version 8.5). Crystal Reports Version 9 or above is required to embed the fonts in the PDF file.
