Distributing DLLs & Other Components with an Application
Components such as ActiveX Controls and DLLs can be installed on Windows
PCs by copying them into the \Windows\System directory during the setup
or installation process and then registering the component. Below is a sample
of a SETUP.LST file used by the Visual Basic package and deployment wizard.
For those who prefer not to use the Visual Basic Package and Deployment
Wizard, the recommended software is
Setup Generator
Pro application - it is much easier to use and does an excellent
job installing fonts. In the Setup Generator Pro application, choose
the "Register as OCX or DLL" option for the DLL file. This is an easy to
use, yet powerful application that does not have any runtime requirements
like the Visual Basic package and deployment wizard does.
Distribution of IDAutomation fonts or components outside an organization
requires a Developer License.
