How to Print the Space Symbol with Barcode Fonts
If a barcode font prints an actual space in the barcode instead of the
intended barcode representation of the space character, then see IDAutomation's
incident titled "Spaces
appear between characters of the font."
It is often necessary to print the barcode symbol representing the space
character. However, the symbol representing the space cannot usually be
printed because an actual space would appear instead. The best way to do
this is to use IDAutomation's
free font tools
because they automatically convert the space to the proper character in
the font.
- To print the space symbol in
Code 128 Fonts,
use ASCII 194 instead of ASCII 32.
- To print the space symbol in
Code 39 Fonts
or Code 93 Fonts,
use "=" (the equal character) instead of a space character.
