Embedding true type fonts in a Word documentIf a Word document is created with a barcode font and the end user does not have the font installed on a computer, the resulting barcode document only displays the encoded data instead of the intended barcode font.
This problem can usually be solved by embedding the True Type Fonts into a document. After a document has been created with the barcode fonts, it is then ready to embed those fonts by saving the document using the following instructions:
Make sure the box for Embed characters in use only does NOT have a check. Next, save the document. Anyone who opens this file should be able to see the barcode embedded in the document. NOTE: Fonts embedded in pdf documents for the public Internet or outside of the company require a Developer License for the font. Extracting the properties of an embedded font is absolutely discouraged. If the pdf document is for the company’s internal use, then only the correct number of Single User Licenses needs to be purchased for those who will be creating pdf documents.
