The Voyager features Metrologic's proprietary CodeGate technology. CodeGate is an intuitive scanning system that is ideal for all scanning applications, including menu scanning, Point-of-Sale, document processing, and inventory, just to name a few. Equipped with both In-Stand and Out-of-Stand operation, Voyager can be used as both a hand-held and fixed projection scanner.

When an object is placed in front of the scanner, the high-visibility 650-nanometer laser is automatically activated allowing the user to easily select the bar code to be scanned. Lab Test Results:
This laser scanner is priced lower than the popular Symbol Laser Scanner and it includes the same features such as the hands-free stand. In IDAutomation's opinion, it is a better product also because it has no spinning rotor to wear out and it has a better depth of field.
