The Voyager features Metrologic's proprietary CodeGate technology. CodeGate is an intuitive scanning system that is ideal for all scanning applications, including menu scanning, Point-of-Sale, document processing, and inventory, just to name a few. Equipped with both In-Stand and Out-of-Stand operation, Voyager can be used as both a hand-held and fixed projection scanner.

Specifications:

When an object is placed in front of the scanner, the high-visibility 650-nanometer laser is automatically activated allowing the user to easily select the bar code to be scanned. Press the CodeGate button and the data is transmitted to the host system.

Lab Test Results:
This laser scanner is priced lower than the popular Symbol Laser Scanner and it includes the same features such as the hands-free stand. In IDAutomation's opinion, it is a better product also because it has no spinning rotor to wear out and it has a better depth of field. In IDAutomation's lab, testers printed IDAutomation's products with a 600 DPI Laser printer. The Metrologic scanner dependably and easily read the following:

• IDAutomation's Code 128 barcode font printed at 8 points.
• Code 128 from IDAutomation's ActiveX Control & DLL printed at X = .015CM.
• IDAutomation's Interleaved 2 of 5 barcode font printed at 9 points.
