 2. IDAutomation Universal Font Package - Release Date: June 10th

Available June 10th is our Universal Barcode Font Advantage ™ which is designed to support most linear barcodes as a single font on multiple operating systems and locales, including Double Byte versions of Windows such as those used in China and Japan as well as other Asian locale settings.

 3. IDAutomation Barcode Label Software

The IDAutomation Barcode Label Software have the following improvements for the Code 128 symbology:

1) ~xnn (where nn is a 2 digit number, e.g. 04). Tells the control to go pull nn characters after the x and encode those characters as their hexadecimal equivalent. So ABCD~x041234XYZ should scan as ABCD31323334XYZ.

2) ~mnn (where nn is a 2 digit number, e.g. 10). Tells the control to take nn digits preceding the ~ and calculate a mod 10 check digit for those numbers. In the HR text and the scanned text ~mnn will be replaced by the mod 10 check digit.

3) There is now support for the FNC2 character (ASCII 197).

4) Also solved a couple other minor software issues.

 4. Metrologic MS1690 Focus Barcode Imager - Being Released in June

Metrologic’s MS1690 Focus is a high performance hand held area imager. This omni-directional scanner decodes virtually all of today's standard bar codes including 1D, RSS, PDF417, microPDF, EAN/UCC Composite, Matrix and Postal Codes regardless of orientation. For capturing and transmitting images Focus combines a high-resolution CMOS sensor with an extremely powerful processor that provides a wide array of outputs at high rates of speed.

When designing Focus, the goal was to leap frog the competition and develop a new set of standards providing users unique, time saving, and technological advancements, meeting the needs of today's marketplace and for years to come. We accomplished this challenge and are able to introduce features such as a depth of field that ranges from 0"to 9.5"for standard 0.33 mm (13 mil) barcodes, stand detection that automatically switches the hand held scanner to a presentation scanner once it is placed in the stand, and let’s not forget the object detection sensor that instantly initiates scanning, via CodeGate, once an object is within the scanner’s field of view.
