 ActiveX Control Barcode Packages:

The ActiveX Control Barcode Packages have been updated with the following improvements:

  • Enhancements to the POSTNET, Planet, Code 128, UCC128, Code 39, UPC/EAN and Interleaved 2 of 5 symbologies.
  • More efficient and consistent rotation algorithms.
  • New features have been added that include:
    • Signed CAB and DLL files are now provided.
    • Support for USPS OneCode.
    • Character grouping - which allows the human readable text to be grouped together in 3, 4, or 5 character groups for easier readability.
    • Bearer Bars - Horizontal and vertical bearer bar options are now available. Thickness of the bars is configurable from 0 (default) to 10 times the XDimension.
    • Text Margin - The space between the human readable text and the barcode.
    • White Bar Increase - Increases the XDimension of the white bars only. This will aid in ensuring readability of barcodes printed with lower resolution printers.
  • New functionality to support Macro PDF417.
  • Improvements to Data Matrix.

 Java 2D Barcode Package:

New functionality has been added to support Macro PDF417 in the Java 2D Barcode Package. MacroPDF is an implementation of PDF417 capable of encoding large amounts of data into multiple PDF417 barcodes. When these multiple barcodes are scanned by a MacroPDF enabled scanner, they are reassembled into one string of data.

The updated plugin uses the new FileMaker 7 API and a corresponding Windows version is also provided for cross-platform compatibility. Use it only if necessary because it is not officially released.
