and thermal transfer models for 2 and 4 inch wide printing - each with

Zebra barcode printers are available in combined direct thermal and
thermal transfer models:
- Direct Thermal - is a less expensive method of printing
labels that requires only one label roll because the printhead burns
the image directly onto the labels. However, the labels can be easily
damaged by heat or pressure.
- Thermal Transfer - produces the highest quality labels.
This method requires one label roll and one film or ribbon roll
because the print head first burns the image onto the film, and
the film is then pressed onto the labels. Thermal transfer also
supports direct thermal printing, so it is a good idea to purchase
this if unsure of which technology is required in your environment.
Free software included: With each purchase of an Zebra Eltron
barcode printer, a license is provided for the use of IDAutomation's
Free Barcode Font
and the Free
Barcode Label Design Application. Generally, these free products
may only be used by non-profit organizations. However, when this printer
is purchased from IDAutomation, a license is granted without this limitation
