The Intermec EasyCoder C4 Barcode Printer Kit has everything needed right out of the box. The kit includes QuickStart Guide, PrinterCompanion CD with step-by-step instruction videos to guide through the setup process, Intermec’s LabelShop START barcode printing and design software for Windows, print-head cleaning card and Windows drivers from Intermec’s Interdriver with ActiveX controls. The ActiveX Controls provide custom printing options from applications such as VB, C++, Access and Microsoft Office.

The LabelShop Start barcode label printing software application is included on a CD with the printer. The software runs on Microsoft Windows and is easy to use. This barcode software is usually provided at an additional cost when ordering a printer, but with this kit it is included. However, the LabelShop software provided only prints to Intermec EasyCoder printers. If the ability to utilize other printers is needed, IDAutomation recommends their Barcode Label Software or the NiceLabel Express Barcode Software.

The barcode printer kit comes standard with many features, which are usually options on competitive products. Standard features include direct thermal and/or thermal transfer printing, peel off and tear off capabilities. The EasyCoder barcode printer prints on labels, tags and tickets. The printhead is replaceable without any hassle or tools. This barcode printer can also be mounted vertically on the wall. Additional features include sleek, compact and very silent operation. The printer has a unique double-clam shell which opens for extremely easy drop-in loading of supplies.

There are two models to choose from - direct thermal and/or thermal transfer.

• Direct Thermal - is a less expensive method of printing barcode labels. This method requires only one label roll because the printhead burns the image directly on the labels. However, the labels can be easily damaged by heat or pressure.
• Thermal Transfer - produces the highest quality barcode labels. This method requires one label roll and one film or ribbon roll because the print head burns the image on the film first and then the film is pressed on the labels. If unsure of what technology is needed, order this model because it also supports direct thermal printing.

Free software included: With each purchase of this printer, a license is provided for the use of IDAutomation's Free Barcode Font and the Free Barcode Label Design Application. Generally, these free products may only be used by non-profit organizations. However, when this barcode printer is purchased from IDAutomation, a license is granted without this limitation according to the license agreement.
