 The
Gryphon™ series barcode scanner represents the premium line of Datalogic
Scanning’s general purpose handheld data collection products and offers
the richest feature set among the general purpose products. Featuring
Bluetooth Wireless Technology, Gryphon GM4100 readers eliminate the
need for cables that limit operator movement and create safety concerns
in the workplace. The reader can also transmit data to the host through
its base station as well as to any commercial or embedded Bluetooth®
v2.0 compliant device.
Datalogic’s unique 2-position cradle provides multiple features for
the user. When in the "up" position, the Gryphon scanner can be used
as a hands-free or presentation style reader. With the scan-while-charging
feature, there is never any concern about depleted or dead batteries,
ensuring constant up-time for increased productivity. The Gryphon GM4100
reader’s batch mode capability allows more than 1,200 bar codes to be
stored in the memory. Combined with a 33,000 scans per charge Lithium-Ion
battery, these two features create unlimited mobility and reliable data
collection when out-of-range. The Gryphon I GM4100 is a high performance
linear imaging barcode scanner with innovative new features in a cordless
scanner for POS retail to light industrial applications.

Datalogic’s exclusive patented "Green Spot" for good-read feedback

Introducing the Gryphon I GM4100 Base Station with New Anti-Counterfeit
Feature
Datalogic Scanning is happy to announce that the Gryphon I GM4100
Base Station is now available in a model with Counterfeit Money/ID Document
detection. This solution will offer the same features as the standard
Gryphon GM4010 Base Station, plus it will provide a simple solution
to verify authenticity of Bank Notes and ID Documents, as well as the
ability to detect a variety of key identifiers on any currency or document.
This will allow the use of the scanner for additional activities besides
data capture and provides additional savings to our customers in terms
of:
- The cost of an additional device for this purpose
- Highly valuable counter space
- Electronic detection for counterfeit currency, which has been
up to the user to visually search for flaws in the currency
Using this new anti-counterfeit feature is very simple: a button
located on the base station turns on the UV LEDs. Operators should then
hold the item to be verified under the LED lights to ensure that the
special fluorescent marks becomes visible. The LEDs are set to switch
off automatically after approximately 2 minutes. By pressing the button
a second time within 10 seconds will keep the UV LEDs lit for an indefinite
period of time. To turn them off, simply press the button again.
