M-4200 FingerTIP Biometric ID Mouse by Cherry

- FingerTIP ID Mouse with Optical Sensor for Precise Movements
- Incorporates UPEK TCS2 TouchChip® sensor
- UPEK’s patented active capacitance sensing technology delivers
a higher signal-to-noise ratio than passive sensing
- Protective coating is up to 5 times thicker than other silicon
sensors on the market today, improving product durability

Cherry Electrical Products' M-4200 Fingertip ID Biometric Mouse allows
users to log on to their PC or laptop using just their fingerprint as
identification. This mouse incorporates biometric technology, thereby
eliminating the need to recall difficult user IDs and/or passwords and
still securing the system from unauthorized users. Using biometric fingerprint
identification has the additional advantage of saving time and frustration
as users no longer have to phone their IT support department to request
a new log-on or password, which often occurs if they are frequently
changed.
The M-4200 Fingertip ID Biometric Mouse incorporates a TCS2 Touchchip
sensor developed by Upek. Placed on top of the device, the biometric
sensor will read each user's fingerprint and then match it to the fingertip
identification records stored on the mouse itself.
This provides
a much greater level of security than matching to records stored on
the PC, as hackers cannot access the templates on the mouse.
The sensor also features Upek's active capacitance sensing technology,
which delivers a higher signal-to-noise ratio than passive sensing and
is protected with a coating which is almost five times thicker than
that of other silicon sensors.
Featuring three buttons and a pressable scroll wheel, the wired M4200
Fingertip ID Biometric Mouse uses 800dpi optical technology for precision
control. Available in a smart silver/black housing, the mouse is guaranteed
for two (2) years and requires Windows 2000, 2003, XP or Linux operating
systems and a USB interface. It is also approved for Microsoft WHQL
Windows XP and by FCC, GS, CE, UL, and VCCI.
