Java Solution:
This is the recommended solution for the Oracle Reports 9i, 10g or greater development environment. This implementation creates barcodes using the IDAutomation Java Barcode Package. This is the only implementation that supports 2D barcode types such as PDF417, DataMatrix and Maxicode. This is also the best implementation for web reporting.
Barcode Font Solution:
This integration option adds barcodes to Oracle Reports using IDAutomation Barcode Fonts and the Oracle PL/SQL Barcode Library. This implementation only supports linear barcode types and is easy to implement on Windows systems. However, it is difficult to implement on Unix and Linux systems. It is not recommended for web reports because the barcode fonts must be installed on each PC that views the reports. Supports Oracle Reports 6i and greater.
JavaScript Web Reporting Solution:
This solution uses IDAutomation's JavaScript Barcode Generator to create barcodes in Web Layout Mode for Oracle Reports. Because it's native JavaScript, no additional components, fonts or plug-ins need to be installed to create barcodes.
