Barcode slot readers are devices that look like magnetic stripe readers but have the capability to read barcodes.
Magnetic stripe readers (also referred to as MSRs) read drivers licenses, credit cards and other information encoded in the magnetic strips contained in the card. Combo readers can read both barcode and magnetic stripe media.
Check readers can read bank checks encoded with either E-13B fonts or CMC-7 fonts and have a MSR option.
