EAN-8 Barcode Generation OptionsThe EAN-8 barcode specification is used in IDAutomation Barcode Fonts, Components and Applications to create an EAN-8 barcode, which is most commonly used to encode 8 digits of the GTIN Barcode. The 8th digit of EAN-8 is a MOD10 check-digit that is recalculated in all IDAutomation barcode products to reduce scanning errors and may be omitted when encoding data. A 2 or 5 digit add-on may be created by appending the numbers to the end of the 12 or 8 digits that make up the primary symbol. Therefore, a number string of 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 or 13 digits (with or without the check digit and/or add-on) must make up the DataToEncode.
