Online Order Process FAQ

If the client is trying to download a software package that was previously purchased, please log into the IDAutomation store and click on "Account Login" to download the software or to generate a link for the end user. If there are any questions, please contact IDAutomation directly.


Prices, Licensing and Links to the Order Forms are at the bottom of each product information page, orders may also be placed by choosing the "Buy Now" link from the Product List. Please read the information below about how an order is processed. Please refer to IDAutomation’s order process FAQ for any questions.

The following describes our order process:

  1. All orders are processed through IDAutomation's online e-commerce store.
  2. For all credit card transactions, IDAUTOMATION.COM, INC. will appear on the customer's credit card statement. IDAutomation strongly encourages ordering by credit card; all other orders take several business days to process.
  3. If the customer orders a software product, the option to purchase Priority Support and Upgrade Subscription is suggested, and a CD of the software is available as well.
  4. The order page will have two options, (1) to create a login as a new customer, or (2) to login as an existing customer with the email address and password that was created with the original order.
  5. On the first page, Customer Information and Billing Address should reflect the person placing the order. If the order is for someone else, select "use a different address" and complete the shipping address portion for the customer. In the shipping information section of the order form, enter the name of the customer to whom the product will be licensed.
  6. Download links and invoices will be sent to the email address used for billing information immediately after the order is approved. Therefore, if the order is for someone else, please forward the download link generated to the customer.
  7. On the second page, select the shipping option for the item purchased if the item is being delivered physically.
  8. The "Discount Code" section is for resellers only. Further instructions are outlined at the Reseller Order Process section.
  9. Next, will be the License Agreement, read it carefully and choose "Yes, I Agree".
  10. To assist IDAutomation in creating new products, a short voluntary customer survey is provided with the following questions: (1) How will the newly purchased product be used and (2) how did the customer find out about IDAutomation products.
  11. A "Special Instructions" section is provided so customers can add any additional information needed to assist with the delivery.
  12. The next page is the Payment Options. Presently, IDAutomation takes the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover; also accepted are checks or money orders drawn on a USA bank and Purchase Orders from customers in the USA with a $300 minimum. Processing fees apply.
  13. Online credit card orders are usually approved immediately. However, in some cases, orders will be delayed because they require additional verification and are reviewed by hand to prevent fraud.
  14. To order by Purchase Order, wire transfer, check or money order, the process will take 2 to 3 business days, sometimes more. Make all Purchase Orders and checks payable to IDAutomation.com, Inc.; An order must be completed online first to obtain an order number. Detailed instructions are provided on the order form. Processing fees apply.
  15. After the order is approved, an email will be sent containing the transaction receipt and the download instructions for the product. This e-mail will also contain the link to log back into the store where the customer can click on "Account Login" to download the software; it must be downloaded within 60 days or it will deactivate. The customer’s user name and password will be needed to access the software. If the customer is not the end user of the software, a download link can be generated by going to the Account Login and clicking on "Generate Link" next to the software package, a link will then be created that can be e-mailed to the end user.
  16. When the email transaction receipt is received, please save this as this is the customer’s invoice and proof of license. Keep a copy of it for future upgrades and license issues.
  17. The download is usually in the form of a ZIP file package that contains several files and documentation. The "readme" file is the primary document that describes the product and can be viewed with any web browser.

Reseller Order Process via Coupon Code:

The following describes the coupon code reseller process, which allows resellers to drop ship products to their customers without maintaining inventory. To obtain a coupon code, register by filling out the reseller agreement.

  1. All orders are processed through IDAutomation's online e-commerce store.
  2. For all credit card transactions, IDAUTOMATION.COM, INC. will appear on the customer's credit card statement. IDAutomation strongly encourages ordering by credit card; all other orders take several business days to process.
  3. To get to the order form, click the "order now" button from IDAutomation's product index.
  4. On the first page, Customer Information and Billing Address should reflect the person placing the order. If the order is for someone else, select "use a different address" and complete the shipping address portion for the customer. In the shipping information section of the order form, enter the name of the customer to whom the product will be licensed.
  5. On the second page, select the shipping option for the item purchased.
  6. If the customer has a Reseller Coupon, place the code in the "Discount Code" section.
  7. Download links and invoices will be sent to the email address used for billing information immediately after the order is approved. Therefore, if the order is for someone else, please forward the download links to the customer.
  8. Only one CD is shipped per license.
  9. The product will be licensed to the customer defined in the ship to address.
  10. Enter the coupon code on the second page of the order process in the "Discount Code" option field to obtain the reseller discount.
  11. Download instructions and invoices will be sent to the email address used for billing purposes immediately after the order is approved. Therefore, as a reseller, ordering for someone else, please forward the download instructions to the customer. To avoid the customer having access to the reseller’s account information, a download link can be generated by going to the Account Login and clicking on "Generate Link" next to the software package, a link will then be created that can be emailed to the end user.
  12. Online credit card orders are usually approved immediately. However, in some cases, orders will be delayed because they require additional verification and are reviewed by hand to prevent fraud.
  13. After the order is approved, an e-mail will be sent containing the transaction receipt and the download instructions for the product.
  14. When the email transaction receipt is received, please print it as this is the customer’s invoice and receipt.
  15. After the order is complete, the customer's name appearing in the shipping address is automatically registered for technical support.

Credit Card
  1. IDAUTOMATION.COM, INC. will appear on the customer's credit card statement.
  2. This is the quickest, easiest, safest and most automated method of ordering. IDAutomation currently accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Check Cards 
  3. After the order is approved an email will be sent that is the transaction receipt with download instructions for the product.
  4. To obtain prices or to start the order process, go directly to IDAutomation’s Product List.  
Purchase Orders NOTE: Purchase orders take 2 - 3 business days to process, sometimes more; online credit card orders are immediate. An additional processing charge of $10.00 is added to all Purchase Orders. All Purchase orders are NET 30.
  1. Choose "Purchase Order - USA Only" on the order form as the payment option. There is a $300 minimum. Include the following information during the online process:
    1. Purchase Order Number
    2. DUNS Number
    3. Bank Reference Name
    4. Bank Account Number
    5. Bank Phone Number
    6. Tax ID or EIN Number
    7. Company Website
  2. Make the Purchase Order and Check out to IDAutomation.com, Inc.. The customer’s unique order number MUST appear on the Purchase Order and the Purchase Order MUST be signed – unsigned Purchase Orders cannot be processed. NOTE: Only one outstanding purchase order may be processed at a time per company. If there is already one PO in the system, no new PO's will be processed until customer is current.

Check or Money Orders NOTE: Orders will not be processed until payment has been received; online credit card orders are immediate.
  1. Choose "Check or Money Order from a USA Bank" on the order form payment option. Supply the customer's Bank Phone Number to complete the order.
  2. The next page will be a summary of the order details - product, pricing, fees and applicable taxes. Once the Place Your Order button has been activated, the payment instructions will be presented.
  3. Send the check or money order to the address listed on the final page. The registration will not be complete or software made available until funds have been received.
  4. To obtain prices or to start the order process, go directly to IDAutomation’s Product List.  
  5. Please contact IDAutomation with any questions about the order.
Wire Transfers NOTE: Wire Transfers take 3 - 5 business days to post to IDAutomation's bank account, sometimes more; online credit card orders are immediate. An additional processing charge of $25.00 is added to all wire transfers.
  1. Choose "Wire Transfer" on the order form payment option. There is a $300 minimum. Include the Name of the Bank Performing the Wire Transfer to complete the order.
  2. The next page will be a summary of the order details - product, pricing, fees and applicable taxes. Once the Place Your Order button has been activated, the payment instructions will be presented.
  3. Send the wire transfer to the address listed on the final page. The registration will not be complete or software made available until funds have been received.

Phone Orders Phone orders can be placed by contacting IDAutomation, however, the order will still be placed through IDAutomation’s internet online form; there is no separate form for phone orders.

To download the software, go back to IDAutomation's store online and select “My Account”.

The customer will need to enter his/her user name and password, which was created at the time of the original order. After log in, the customer should see a link to “My Downloads” in the upper right hand corner. This will be the location from where the package can be downloaded.

How do I create a download link if I am not the end user?

As a reseller, ordering for someone else, please forward the download instruction to the customer. To avoid the customer having access to the reseller’s account information, user name and password, a download link can be generated by going to Account Login and clicking on “Generate Link” next to the software package, a link will then be created that can be emailed to the end user.

I ordered the wrong product - how do I exchange it?

To exchange a product, please reorder the correct product and contact IDAutomation with the new order number and the original order number of the product being returned. IDAutomation will then refund the purchase price of the returned product according to the type of payment originally used. This is necessary so the licensing data is correct in IDAutomation’s database.

How many licenses do I need?

To determine how many licenses needed read the Section 1 License Grant portion of the appropriate license agreement. Licenses may not be shared between companies except under the conditions of the Developer License.

Are there discounts for small and non-profit companies or educational institutions?

IDAutomation does not offer any discounts, however, the Small Company Developer License is offered for half the price of the Developer License for all organizations with a gross annual revenue or funding of less than 2 million U.S. Dollars or equivalent amount in a foreign currency. To qualify for the Small Company Developer License, send the signed Small Company Agreement located at http://www.idautomation.com/sca/ after purchase of the license is completed.

VAT tax information for European customers:

VAT tax is not added to an order if the order is directly from IDAutomation’s website and payment is by credit card. Most of IDAutomation’s European customers are businesses that are exempt from the VAT tax or they have a registered VAT ID which allows them to pay the VAT tax directly to their government instead of adding it to the order. In some cases, such as when ordering through a reseller or selecting a payment other than credit card, customers will be charged the VAT tax and will need to file a form with their country to have the VAT tax reimbursed. This is a common process in Europe and these customers should be familiar with that process.

The order form automatically adds sales tax although we are tax exempt:

To exclude sales tax for customers with a billing address located in Florida, enter the tax exempt certificate number and expiration date at the time of order.

Is it safe to order online with my credit card?

Ordering online by credit card is the fastest and safest method of receiving the product. All of the online order forms are located on IDAutomation's secure order server and are encrypted. The browser will confirm that the web page is encrypted by the small padlock icon in the status bar; when at an encrypted secure site, the padlock is closed. Also, the beginning URL of the encrypted secure site will begin with HTTPS instead of HTTP.

Can I get an Invoice mailed to me?

IDAutomation does not mail invoices or receipts as a general rule. Invoices and receipts are provided by e-mail and should be printed by the customer. If a printer is not connected to the computer containing the email then forward the invoice or receipt to a computer that has a printer. If a printer is unavailable then, as a last resort, IDAutomation can print an invoice and mail it. Please contact IDAutomation with the order number and complete mailing address.

Font Types and Versions Provided with Font Advantage Packages:

The following font types and versions are provided with an order to support Windows, DOS, Macintosh, Linux and UNIX systems:
  • The Windows TrueType fonts are compatible with all versions of Microsoft Windows greater than version 3.1 and all versions of Macintosh OS greater than 10.1 (OS X). Windows TrueType fonts all have the .TTF extension.
  • The Windows PostScript fonts can be used natively on Windows 2000 and later systems. Windows PostScript files have the .PFB extension.
  • Macintosh Classic TrueType fonts are supplied in MacBinary format and are compatible with System 7.1 to the latest version of OSX. Macintosh TrueType fonts have the .MTT extension. These files are encoded in MacBinary format.
  • The Macintosh PostScript fonts are for use on Macintosh PCs that have Adobe Type Manager. The ".MT1" file is the Type 1 printer font file and the ".BMA" is the screen font file. These files are encoded in MacBinary format.
  • PostScript Type 1 fonts are provided for support on any operating system with PostScript printers including Linux and UNIX. Both Binary and ASCII versions of PostScript are provided in the following file types: .PFB, .PFA, .INF, .AFM & .PFM.
  • PCL laserjet soft font versions of IDAutomation fonts support any operating system with a PCL 5 compatible printer. PCL fonts are automatically provided for MICR E-13B, CMC-7, OCR-A, OCR-B, POSTNET, PLANET, Code 39, Code 128, PDF417, Interleaved 2 of 5, 4-State and RM4SCC. All of IDAutomation PCL fonts are PCL level 5. If a multi-user or developer license is ordered for a product that does not include the size of the PCL font needed, IDAutomation will gladly create the requested font size. Just contact IDAutomation with the font name, point size and DPI for the font, along with the original order number. PCL fonts have .SFP extensions. 
  • Internet font formats such as TrueDoc (.EOT and .PFR) are not supplied because they must be made by the customer. Upon conversion of these fonts from TrueType, the creator enters unique URLs within the fonts and they cannot be utilized from anywhere else. IDAutomation's License Agreement allows customers that purchase corporate or distribution licenses of IDAutomation fonts to embed the fonts from TrueType format into the OpenType or TrueDoc Internet font technologies. A sample of the fonts in both OpenType or TrueDoc format and an evaluation of the conversion tools is available at IDAutomation's Internet Font Embedding Page.
